First development release

We want to announce the first milestone preview. This preview is addressed to developers and to early testers.

The following features are complete and can be testet:
*) Samba Share managment
*) User managment
*) Group managment
*) Musicserver
*) Boxbackup server interface (backup solution)
*) Harddrive managment

Satega: The Open Home Server Project aims to build an easy to install server for the home, providing user administration, central storage and many other features.

We are currently in planning phase, and no releases have been made yet.

If you would like to participate, register in the forum and leave a post in the "Participate" forum.

Satega wants to provide its users an easy to use multiplatform backup solution.

But there are really few good programms out there.
We want to encourage you to leave us a post in our forum if you know an good backup solution for linux and windows.

It must not have an good gui because we will write an webbased module for satega.

Opportunity for GUI Designers

Satega: The Open Home Server, is an open source project which aims to develop a Linux alternative to M$ Home Server. We are getting close to our first technical release to the public. In order to complete the work, we are in need of help and guidance in developing an intuitive and nice looking user interface for the administrators and users of the server.

Participation requested

We are looking for skilled designer/programmers to help develop Satega: The Open Home Server.

Currently we are looking for people skilled in one or more of the following areas:

* Python/CSS/HTML mainly
* Samba/NFS configuration
* ldap configuration
* deb-packaging
* Testers
* Documentation writers
* User guide writers
